Please note that there is no live music on Saturdays during the first half of February at the G&D.  However, the usual weekly Irish folk music evenings and fortnightly Open Mic Nights continue, as shown below.

Sunday 12th February - it's the weekly traditional Irish folk music evening with John Devine - start time 7pm.

18th February - Mouth On A Stick return to the G&D.

Sunday 19th February - it's the weekly traditional Irish folk music evening with John Devine - start time 7pm.

Monday 20th February - it's the third Monday of February so it's open mic night with Shane Lamont - start time 9pm.

Sunday 26th February - it's the weekly traditional Irish folk music evening with John Devine - start time 7pm.

Ongoing Events

Traditional Irish Folk Music Evening - there is a traditional Irish folk music session with John Devine every Sunday evening, except Sundays before Bank Holidays when the pub holds a karaoke evening instead.  Musicians welcome.  Start time is 7pm.

Wireless Internet - the G&D now has a wireless internet connection.  Ask at the bar for the password.

Quiz Night - there is a general knowledge quiz every Wednesday starting at approximately 9pm.

Open Mic Night - there is an open mic night with Shane Lamont on the first, third and, where applicable, fifth Monday of every month at the G&D.  Start time is 9pm in all cases.  Next open mic night is Monday 20th February.  At the Open Mic Night on 1st November 2010, local photographer Chris Coppin took some pictures.  Click here for a selection of them.

Pub Info - remember that the renovated barn, which has its own bottle bar, is available for hire for private functions - see Mick for more details.

Darts - a Ladies' Darts team represents the G&D in a local league.  Click here for information about upcoming fixtures.

News Update

PapaDon's Biryani Night - this event took place on 2nd December 2011.  After expenses, £1,600 was raised for Dreamflight.  Thank you to everyone that took part, but especially Don.

New Year's Eve - £170 was raised in raffle ticket sales for the Pepper Foundation.  This figure is expected to grow once the proceeds from the ticket sales have been calculated.
